The wind blew cold in the almost ghost town of Tristram. Amadeus stood alone, and waited for the man in black. The sky was gray and the day seemed to generate a mood of umpleasantness.
"The man in black better get here...damn mage...taking his sweet time to get here." Amadeus said impatiently.
"Who's the damn mage?" a voice asked up behind him.
"Ahh it's you...I don't have much time. How do I cure my lord?" Amadeus asked, cutting straight to the point.
"You must go into the caverns, and slay a beast known as Deathspit. Take his blood, which acts as the cure for the poison. This will remedy your friend I would think." the man in the black robs said, almost slinking further into his robes.
"Thank you...I guess I shall go." Amadeus said and made his way to the caverns alone.
"Don't think I am going to let you blindly go into the dungeon alone. You will need my help finding this creature." the mage said, putting out his arm to stop the man.
"Good...but what's the cost going to be?" Amadeus asked.
"Well let's say I am a friend of the Paladins. So I will do this for you for only ten thousand gold."the mage answered confidently.
"Fine...only because I care for the health of my lord." Amadeus said.
"As do I..." the man muttered in reply.
"But, I wish to know a name by which I can call you," Amadeus replied.
"Call me Ender." the man replied," but none shall know I am called by that name."
"I agree to your request...here's your gold." Amadeus said and gave the man his gold.
Ri'henna the sister of Athena and quite bitter of the loss, held a meeting amongst the Paladins of Light. She was trying to stir up a rebellion.
"They just killed my brother out right with no mercy at all." Ri'henna continues her speech," what do I say we do about this? I say we rebel, and make me the new leader!"
"Yah!!!" the supporters of Ri'henna cried.
"We will become the new Paladins!" Ri'henna yelled.
"ENOUGH!!!!!" A voice roared.
"Who are you?" Ri'Henna asked.
"I am Calis...Paladin Lord, your brother gave his soul up to evil. My lord Divaqs was given now choice in matter, he had to slay your brother. Otherwise he would have had no hope of redemption." the man answered.
The meeting room in the Paladin's Inn became silent.
"You lie...my brother could have been cured!" Ri'henna yelled back," your leader Divaqs can go and die in hell for what he has done, I demand retribution!"
"Hurrah!" the supporters of Ri'henna shouted in agreement.
"Silence!" Calis yelled," I challenge you to a duel Ri'henna, if you win, You lead the Paladins of Light, if you lose, you are banished for all times!"
"I accept!" Ri'henna shouted back.
"Good!" Calis said," meet me here when the sun is at it's highest point tommorrow.
Calis walked out, preparing himself mentally for the battle ahead.
"Are you sure you can handle Ri'henna?" Calis' squire said.
"I am sure of it. The Gods will grant me victory." Calis said with confidence.
The two rode away upon their steeds back to the castle with the stars twinkling above them.
Left and right demons were perishing, goat men, lava maws and all types of demons were being slain. Amadeus and this mysterious individual, Ender the mage, were working well as a team together to finish off demon after demon. Streams of lightning spewed from Ender's finger tips while Amadeus incoporated the use of his sword that was blessed with speed enhancing abilities and his StormShield, which protected him from all sorts of flying debris thrown at him by the lava maws. Amadeus ducked under the fist of one of the rocky creatures and cut it in half.
"Ender, I think we are almost to the level where my sources said they spotted this creature." Amadeus said as he sliced another spitter demon in half, it's acid blood pouring out of it's wound profusely.
"Yes, that beast is usually in this area. " Ender replied as he cast a ball of fire into a group of spitter demons, killing five in a group.
The two continued their killing of the acid spitting demon's getting burnt by the hot acid spittle but healing themselves with magic, and returning blasts of fire or electricity. Then suddenly a blue skinned spitter came out. It was Deathspit.
The winds swirled on the battlements of the castle. Calis and Ri'Henna stood apart, and facing eachoter. Calis' cape fluttered in the wind as he put on his helmet. Ri'henna swished her cloak behind her and looked at Calis with contempt.
"This will be for the honor of the Paladins of Light" Calis stated.
"This will be for the honor of my brother Athena, who your vile master slew outright." Ri'henna answered in defiance.
"Let us begin," Calis said, and drew his sword.
"Yes, let's." Ri'henna answered and drew her blade as well.
The two ran at eachother with their blades above their heads, their blades met and the two begin viciosuly hacking away at the other. Blades sparked as the two almost seemed to follow the vicious attitude of killing their swords possesed.The spectators who watched were shocked by the amount of brutality that two brothers of the Paladins of Light could have for eachother. Calis dodged a swipe from Ri'henna's singing blade and answered back with a thrust which some how she was able to parry. Ri'henna's sword then did a quick arc in the air and her blade met with Calis'. Calis pushed her blade back and kicked her in the stomach. Then he laced his blade into her's so many time's the vibration of the sword caused her to drop it.
"Yield now...Ri'henna, you have lost." Calis said.
"I yield, tis the only honorable thing to do." she answered, her voice had that pinch of defeat, "just let me leave in honor."
"You have it...but never return." Calis replied brutally
Ri'henna stood, and walked out of the Castle of Light...never to return again.
"Deathspit! Watch out Amadeus!" Ender said as the spit from the demon came towards them. Ender jumped in front of Amadeus and took the splash of the poison right on his chest and face.
"Arrgh!" he groaned in pain.
Amadeus drew his blade and charged the creature. He swung and struck it's back and it screeched in pain. But then the creature jumped up and bit Amadeus. He struck again at the creature, drawing it's blood once more. The poison already worked it's way up into his system. Amadeus fell to the floor, dizzy and the creature was lunging for his neck, it looked like he wouldn't be able to stop it.
Suddenly in mid air, it turned into stone. Amadeus saw his companion, Ender leaning heavily upon his staff.
"Kill it..." he gasped.
Amadeus brought his sword above his head and cut the demon in half...it reverted to it's natural form and screeched in agony, it's cry only lasting a second.
"Quick... let me drink it's blood while it's fresh, and get in this vial," Ender replied, and gave Amadeus a bottle.
Amadeus did as he was told and Ender drank the blood as well. After they filled up ten vials, Ender chanted a portal back to the earth.
"Go back to your lord." Ender said.
"Aren't you going to come?" Amadeus asked," I am sure you will be rewarded for your aid."
"No...not now, I am too tainted to enter that castle as of yet, but tell your lord, Ender, the dark mage will see the gates of the Paladins once more." Ender replied.
"As you wish Ender..." Amadeus said as he looked at the portal and then back, seeing no sign of the mage," thank you..."
Amadeus shrugged and went into the portal. It was time to cure his master.
