So the next day at noon, hundreds of Knights, Paladins, Seekers and TimeLord Troops stood on the outside of the entrance of the Church.
"Now, we begin our campaign men!" Pjotor yelled," Divaqs, if you could brief everyone."
"Of course Master Pjotor,my friends and allies, We will be sending in the core of the Paladins, the Order of the Dragons, the Knights of the Mist, and the Knights of the Flame, thirty of the Paladin's best. They will establish a safe haven for all of our other troops to enter safely." Divaqs briefed.
He continued his speech, while Magus drifted away in thought. Finally, his life could finally be over. He felt incredibly anxious and was ready to challenge the Lord of Terror alone. Divaqs ended the brief. The three regiments entered the dungeon. They were thirty men in all, the Knights of the Mist, was led by Sir Chovus. Magus walked alongside Sir Chovus.
"So thou art Magus, a new recruit?" Chovus asked. Magus looked at him, a friendly looking man, he had long blond hair and wore blue plate mail, which was the wear for the Knights of the Mist.
"Yes, I am assuming you are Chovus?" Magus asked politely.
"Aye, I am, I have heard good things about you. I will be honored to work with thee." Chovus answered.
"As will I enjoy working with you, my noble friend." Magus responded, genuinely liking this warrior's friendly attitude.
"Yeah, since there are introductions, I am Captain Binabik, you are new in my regiment correct?" He asked.
"Yes, a pleasure to meet you Binabik." Magus answered politely.
" I am Zigomar, I am not really supposed to be down here. But I have a bit of a wish to kill demons, so they let me come." a man said next to Binabik.
Binabik was a tall man, dressed in green platemail, that symbolized the Order of the Dragon. These knights were started months ago, when Captain Excaliber's Knights of the Flame were forced to split.Asmon had led before Binabik, as he explained.
Zigomar told Magus about himself as the new friends were walking into the Dungeons. Zigomar wore robes of blue and his hair was jet black, which matched the color of his eyes. He stood about 6’1” and had an impressive magical power, Magus realized.
" So Captain Excaliber left for a while. So Captain Sturm now runs the Knights of the Flame." Binabik explained," Azael took over for Asmon and then he left me. Now I run the Dragons."
Nothing was occuring as they made their way through the dungeon. Magus met Quasar, a brave warrior of the Order of the Dragon. He came in a week before Magus so he felt more at home. But then in the middle of their conversation, the scout ahead shouted.
"Enemy is upon us..." he managed as he was ran through with a spear.
"We are under attack!" Chovus shouted. From all sides demons popped out. Countless fallen ones, undead and scavengers. Not usually a problem, Magus thought, but now they were surrounded with dozens, maybe even close to a hundred.
"Knights of the Flame, cover our flanks, Knights of the Mist cover the rear, and Order of the Dragon, cover our front." Binabik, the mission commander cried. The thirty men positioned themselves. Demons advanced from all sides. They were in a triangle shape.
"Mist Knights, prepare the magic or bows." Sir Chovus ordered. The knights prepared their magic incantations and placed the bows in ready position.. When the screeching Fallen ones approached, Chovus gave his orders.
"Fire!" Chovus yelled, and a magic volley of electric lightning erupted from their fingertips and struck down the hordes of demons, frying them where they stood, arrows buried themselves into their bodies, killing them instaneously.
"Attack!" Sturm ordered and his troops casted a spell which made flames erupt from the ground. The demons, undaunted because of their stupidity and bloodlust, continued advancing and burnt themselves in the fire.
"Now!" Binabik yelled and his troops shot several bolts of elxctticity and fire at the zombies, skeletons and undead.
This continued, bolts of holy energy, walls of fire, arrows, bolts of fire and electricity streamed from the thirty men, killing many a demon. But still they continued to advance upon the troops. "Okay everyone, we appear to be losing mana, and they are still advancing, everyone work in pairs and engage them in any fashion you wish. Stand your ground," Binabik commanded and gave another order, "message boy, go up to Divaqs and tell him to send reinforcements.
The rushing hordes of demons were being slaughtered but still they were able to inflict small wounds on all of the paladins. Magus casted spell after spell, and he summoned a whole horde of Guardians, which shot down the demons as they got close, while his partner Quasar, used his blend of magic and swordsmanship to take down demon after demon.
After another ten minutes of combat, large balls of fire flew in and took out about twenty of the chittering scavengers which were about to overtake Binabik and Sturm. "We’re here! Time for glorious battle!" A Guard of the Realm, by the name of Theoden yelled.
Magus recgonized this man because he had met all of the guards, and knew them to be one of the best fighting forces in the kingdom. Guard Theoden Everclear was his full title and he was one of the best.
Being distracted with the knowledge of reinforecements, Magus was almost stabbed by a skeleton, but Quasar spotted the danger and crushed the skull of the offending undead.
"Keep your head about you in battle," Quasar said with a smile," or I will get to kill em all!"
He went back to casting his holy bolts, blazing balls of white pure fire, which undead couldn’t stand. Quasar sliced through about two zombies in one sword swing.
"Thank you Quasar!" Magus said and summoned up a giant creature, a blood red skeleton that flew about and ripped demons to pieces. He brought all sorts of hell spawn and other creatures to serve him. Including tall stone men that would crush the opponents with large stony fists.
The Guards of the Realm were all dressed in dark gray armor, and went about with their killing of demons in almost a beautiful fashion. They all were masters with the sword and they sliced their way through countless demons. With these new soldiers assisting the orginal thrity men, they were actually pushing the demons back.
But to make their situation better, another twenty members of both the Forgotten Order and
the Seekers came to assist. Within the next two hours that contiunued, they cleared the
first floor. The first battle of dominance of the dungeon had been one. Magus, a former
resident of hell, realized that this was just child’s play considering the horrors that awaited
them all in the further reaches of hell.....
